CALCIUM 500 mg + VITAMIN D3 400 IU TABLETS

1. COMPOSITION

Each tablet contains:

  • Calcium — 500 mg

  • Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol) — 400 IU

  • Pharmaceutical excipients — q.s.

2. PHARMACEUTICAL FORM

Tablet.

3. THERAPEUTIC CLASS

Calcium and Vitamin D Supplement.

4. INDICATIONS

  • Prevention and treatment of calcium and Vitamin D deficiency.

  • Supports normal bone and teeth formation and maintenance.

  • Helps maintain normal muscle function.

  • Used as nutritional supplementation where calcium and Vitamin D intake is inadequate.

  • May be used as an adjunct in the management of osteoporosis as directed by a physician.

5. CONTRAINDICATIONS

  • Hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation.

  • Hypercalcaemia or hypercalciuria.

  • Severe renal impairment or renal calculi unless prescribed by a physician.

  • Conditions associated with excessive Vitamin D or calcium levels.

6. DRUG INTERACTIONS

Calcium may reduce the absorption of certain medicines, including:

  • Tetracycline and quinolone antibiotics.

  • Levothyroxine.

  • Iron-containing preparations.

  • Bisphosphonates.

Separate administration by an appropriate interval as advised by a healthcare professional.

Thiazide diuretics may increase the risk of hypercalcaemia.

7. ADMINISTRATION

Take one tablet daily with or after food, or as directed by a physician.

  • Swallow the tablet with sufficient water.

  • Do not exceed the recommended dose.

  • Maintain adequate fluid intake unless otherwise advised.

Store below 25°C, protected from moisture, heat and direct sunlight.
