COMPOSITION
Each vial contains:
Cefoperazone Sodium equivalent to Cefoperazone ............... 1 g
Tazobactam Sodium equivalent to Tazobactam ............... 125 mg
or
Cefoperazone Sodium equivalent to Cefoperazone ............... 500 mg
Tazobactam Sodium equivalent to Tazobactam ............... 62.5 mg
Excipients: As applicable.

THERAPEUTIC CLASS
Third-Generation Cephalosporin Antibiotic + β-Lactamase Inhibitor
INDICATIONS
Cefoperazone Sodium + Tazobactam Injection is indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe bacterial infections caused by susceptible microorganisms.
It may be used in the treatment of:
• Lower respiratory tract infections
• Urinary tract infections
• Intra-abdominal infections
• Skin and soft-tissue infections
• Bone and joint infections
• Biliary tract infections
• Septicemia and bloodstream infections
• Gynecological infections
• Other serious infections caused by susceptible bacteria
Treatment should be guided by the susceptibility of the causative organism and applicable antimicrobial guidelines.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Cefoperazone Sodium + Tazobactam is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to cefoperazone, tazobactam, other cephalosporins, penicillins, or any component of the formulation.
DRUG INTERACTIONS
Particular consideration may be required with concomitant use of:
• Anticoagulants such as warfarin
• Aminoglycoside antibiotics
• Other nephrotoxic medicines
• Other β-lactam antibiotics
• Alcohol-containing products
The treating physician should review all concomitant medications before administration.
ADMINISTRATION
Cefoperazone Sodium + Tazobactam Injection may be administered by intravenous or intramuscular route according to the approved product information.
The contents of the vial should be reconstituted with a suitable compatible diluent under appropriate aseptic conditions.
For intravenous administration, the reconstituted solution should be further diluted as required and administered by a qualified healthcare professional according to the approved product information and institutional protocol.
