Each mL contains:
Tobramycin USP ............... 40 mg
Water for Injection USP ............... q.s.
Each 2 mL contains:
Tobramycin USP ............... 80 mg
Water for Injection USP ............... q.s.
PHARMACEUTICAL FORM
Sterile, clear, colourless to pale yellow solution for intramuscular or intravenous administration.
THERAPEUTIC CLASS
Aminoglycoside Antibiotic
INDICATIONS
Tobramycin Injection is indicated for the treatment of serious bacterial infections caused by susceptible Gram-negative and certain Gram-positive microorganisms.
It may be used in the treatment of:
• Septicemia and bloodstream infections
• Serious respiratory tract infections
• Complicated urinary tract infections
• Serious intra-abdominal infections
• Bone and joint infections
• Skin and soft-tissue infections
• Serious infections caused by susceptible Pseudomonas aeruginosa
Treatment should be guided by the susceptibility of the causative organism and applicable antimicrobial guidelines.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Tobramycin is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to tobramycin or other aminoglycoside antibiotics, or to any component of the formulation.
DRUG INTERACTIONS
Concurrent use with other potentially nephrotoxic or ototoxic medicines may increase the risk of toxicity.
Particular caution may be required with concomitant use of:
• Other aminoglycoside antibiotics
• Potent diuretics
• Other nephrotoxic medicines
• Other ototoxic medicines
The treating physician should review all concomitant medications before initiating therapy.
ADMINISTRATION
Tobramycin Injection may be administered by intramuscular injection or intravenous administration according to the approved product information and institutional protocol.
For intravenous administration, the injection should be appropriately diluted using a compatible solution and administered under appropriate aseptic conditions.

STORAGE
Store according to the storage conditions stated on the approved product label.
Protect from excessive heat and light.
Do not use if the solution shows visible particles, precipitation or unusual discoloration.
