1. COMPOSITION
Each mL contains:
Amikacin — 10 mg
Sterile aqueous vehicle — q.s.
2. PHARMACEUTICAL FORM
Sterile Ophthalmic/Otic Solution.
3. THERAPEUTIC CLASS
Aminoglycoside Antibiotic.
4. INDICATIONS
Treatment of susceptible bacterial infections of the eye and ear.
May be used in bacterial conjunctivitis and other superficial ocular infections caused by susceptible microorganisms.
May be used for susceptible bacterial infections of the external ear, as directed by a physician.
5. CONTRAINDICATIONS
Hypersensitivity to Amikacin, other aminoglycosides, or any component of the formulation.
Viral, fungal or mycobacterial infections unless specifically prescribed.
For topical ophthalmic/otic use only.
6. DRUG INTERACTIONS
No significant systemic drug interactions are expected with topical administration.
If other ophthalmic or otic preparations are being used, allow an appropriate interval between applications as directed by a healthcare professional.
7. ADMINISTRATION
For ocular use: Instill 1–2 drops into the affected eye(s) 3–4 times daily, or as directed by a physician.
For ear use: Instill the prescribed number of drops into the affected ear(s) as directed by a physician.
Wash hands before use.
Do not touch the dropper tip to the eye, ear, eyelids, ear canal or other surfaces.
Complete the prescribed course of treatment.
Do not use in the ear if tympanic membrane perforation is suspected unless specifically advised by a physician.
8. STORAGE
Store below 25°C, protected from excessive heat and light.
Keep the container tightly closed when not in use.
Keep out of reach of children.
Do not use after the expiry date.
